Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria -Adults 18 years to 60 years. -Elective surgeries under general anaesthesia with endotracheal intubation or supraglottic airway. -Expected postoperative follow up in PACU or ward for at least 24 hours.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria -Emergency surgeries. -Pre existing nausea or vomiting within 24 hours before surgery. -Patients receiving antiemetics for other indications preoperatively. -Inability to provide informed consent or communicate PONV.

MeasureTime frame
To determine the diagnostic accuracy of the Apfel risk score for predicting PONV within 24 hours postoperatively using AUC of ROC curve.Timepoint: 24hours post surgery

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
-Time specific PONV -early 0 2 h & late 2 24 h. -Use of rescue antiemetics. Timepoint: 24hours post surgery
