Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patient with moderate to severe ARDS (P/F ratio less than 150) in whom the invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV) has been initiated within 36- 48 h and are planned for proning session.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pregnancy, cardiac disease Chest wall deformity, head injury, end-stage organ failure, Hemodynamic instability requiring dual vasopressors, contraindication to esophageal catheter placement (facial fracture, GI Bleed), severe respiratory central depression and neuromuscular conduction block diseases
