Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Female spouses of individuals diagnosed with alcohol use disorder as per ICD 11, aged between 22 and 50 years, who are willing to participate in emotion regulation and problem-solving therapy sessions and assessments. Participants should be able to comprehend and communicate in Kannada, Hindi, or English and provide informed consent for participation in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Female spouses who are currently undergoing any form of psychological therapy, or those with chronic medical or neurological conditions that may interfere with participation. Individuals diagnosed with any psychiatric disorder other than mild to moderate depression will be excluded. Participants with high self-efficacy and low psychological distress at baseline will also be excluded from the study.

Change in psychological distress scores from baseline to post intervention, measured using perceived stress scale. Change in self efficacy scores from baseline to post intervention, measured using general self-efficacy scale.Timepoint: post assessment is done after 8 consecutive days from the baseline assessment, that is on the 8th session
