Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1)Age greater than 18 years 2)Confirmed diagnosis of acute ischemic stroke on neuroimaging (CT/MRI brain) 3)Presentation within 72 hours of symptom onset 4)Ability to undergo transthoracic echocardiography 5)Provision of informed consent (either by patient or legally authorized representative)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1)Age less than 18 2)Hemorrhagic stroke. 3)History of AF, rheumatic heart disease, or significant valvular disease. 4)Poor echo window or technically inadequate echocardiogram. 5)Patients with severe hemodynamic instability preventing echocardiographic evaluation 6)Refusal of informed consent.
