Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with central perforation Patients with uncontrolled systemic disease History of previous ear surgery of the same ear Active infection in the ear

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Ease of elevation of adherent tympanic membrane and epithelium from underlying bone or the ossicular chain compared to traditional mechanical dissection.Timepoint: During surgery

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1.To study the safety profile of MESNA in terms of inner ear damage 2.To study the safety profile of MESNA in terms facial nerve dysfunction 3.To evaluate the rate of mucosal preservation over promontory using MESNA v/s conventional dissection 4.To evaluate the rate of iatrogenic ossicular injury using 10% MESNA vs conventional dissection 5.Comparison of hearing outcome post surgery b/w two groups Timepoint: At the time of surgery and upto 3 months after surgery
