Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Individuals older than or equal to 18 years diagnosed with ARDS, admitted to the ICU on invasive mechanical ventilation. 2. Adequate echocardiographic image quality permitting strain analysis
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. History of significant cardiac disease (LVEF less than 50%, known IHD/Structural heart disease/cardiac transplant/ arrhythmias/ Known RV dysfunction). 2. Severe PAH on treatment 3. Use of ECMO at the time of imaging/ Prone individuals on IMV. 4. Lung carcinoma. 5. Pregnant individuals. 6. Cardiac tamponade or pericardial effusion more than mild. 7. Chronic Kidney Disease(CKD-5) / Liver disease (CLD/DCLD). 8. Bystander not willing to consent to the study.
