Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1)age more than or equal to 18 years 2)mechanical ventilation for more than 48 hours

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Patients transferred from another ICU with more than 6 hours of prior ventilation 2) Pregnancy 3)Patients with terminal illness or Do-Not-Resuscitate (DNR) orders 4)Patients on High frequency ventilation or Extracorporeal life support

MeasureTime frame
To determine the association between ICU air quality (measured by PM1.0, PM3.0, PM10 levels, Temperature, Relative humidity and microbiological air sampling) and the incidence of ventilator-associated events (VAEs) in mechanically ventilated adult ICU patients.Timepoint: Outcome will be assessed at baseline, at 48 hours and at 4 days

1)To evaluate temporal variations in ICU air quality & variation in VAE incidence. 2)To assess the impact of air quality parameters on clinical outcomes such as ventilator duration, ICU length of stay & ICU mortalityTimepoint: at baseline, at 48 hours & at 4 days
