Interventions

Intervention1: Sevoflurane: 100 ml of Sevoflurane, for 5 hours, through Inhalational route. Control Intervention1: Desflurane: 100 ml of Desflurane, for 5 hours, through Inhalational route.

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients between 20 years to 65 years of age. 2. ASA physical status I, II, III 3. Patients undergoing elective cancer surgeries under General Anaesthesia.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Known allergy or sensitivity to volatile anaesthetic agents. 2. History of malignant hyperthermia. 3. Patients with significant hepatic, renal, or cardiovascular diseases. 4. Pre existing lung disease or recent respiratory infections. 5. Pregnancy or lactating women. 6. Patients on sedative medications or psychiatric medications, affecting cognitive functions. 8. Emergency surgeries.

To compare the difference in post operative cognitive functions as assessed by MMSE (Mini mental state examination) scoring, and evaluate changesTimepoint: 12 hours before the operation, and 1st, 3rd and 5th day after the operation.	—
