Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1)Health-conscious patients between the ages of 17 and 35 with no previous treatment that affected the gingival health or colour. 2)Individuals with mild-to-severe anterior melanin gingival pigmentation according to Dummetts classification were involved.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1)Fully edentulous patients 2)Pregnant or lactating women 3)Smokers 4)Patients who are taking medications that influenced gingival colour 5)Patients who had any systemic disease that may induce the production of melanin.
