Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Primary rhegmatogenous retinal detachment 2. PVR Grade A, B or C2 3. Patients undergoing Vitrectomy with silicone oil or gas injection 4. Giant retinal tear 5. RD secondary to closed globe injury with no macular pathology 6. Informed consent obtained from patients willing for study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. PVR more than Grade C2 2. Combined or tractional retinal detachments 3. Preexisting corneal changes like corneal decompensation, scarring, sutured corneal tears, congenital anomalies 4. Any congenital retinal anomaly like coloboma, JXLR etc 5. Patients developing recurrent retinal detachment after first surgery, either under oil or less than 1 month Post SOR 6. Previous Macular diseases, macular surgery, macular abnormalities in study or fellow eye, amblyopia 7. High Myopia with posterior staphyloma 8. RRD secondary to penetrating injury 9. Any systemic disease or cognitive impairment that would be a contraindication to surgery or prevent cooperation with follow-up.
