Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. All the patients above 18 years of age presenting with acanthosis nigricans belonging to both sexes, willing to participate in the study through a written informed consent. 2. Patients willing for further investigations.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients not willing to give written informed consent. 2. Age less than 18 years. 3. Patient on any drug causing acanthosis nigricans.

To evaluate the prevalence of subclinical atherosclerosis in individuals with acanthosis nigricans using bilateral carotid artery doppler ( to look for the carotid intima-media thickness) and also the lipid profile levels. Timepoint: 18 months
