Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with cholelithiasis and chronic cholecystitis planned for laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Non smokers Mallampati scoring I & II Patients willing to participate and giving written informed consent. Patients accepted for surgery under american society of anesthesiologists grade I and II. Elective surgery requiring general anaesthesia with endotracheal intubation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient refusal Age less than 18 years and more than 65 years MPS more than III and IV Known Autonomic Dysfunction Peripheral Vascular Disease Chronic use of Beta-Blockers or Vasopressors COPD and bronchial asthma Morbid obesity BMI more than 35 kg/m2 History of Neuromuscular Disorders Unstable hemodynamics

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Change in perfusion index from baseline at the time of laryngoscopy. Timepoint: From baseline to till 10 minutes.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To examine how the perfusion index varies with factors such as the patients age, the length of the surgical procedure, and the type of non depolarizing muscle relaxant used. To explore the relationship between perfusion index and changes in heart rate and blood pressure and to compare how accurately perfusion index reflects stress response compared to traditional hemodynamic measures. Timepoint: From baseline to till 10 minutes.
