Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients willing to participate and provide written informed consent. Patients aged 18-75 years, of either gender, undergoing emergency exploratory laparotomy via midline incision.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with known immunocompromised status. Patients with pre-existing surgical site infections or skin infections.

Incidence of surgical-site infection as per CDC criteria.Timepoint: Within 30 days postoperatively.
