Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients who are mechanically ventilated undergoing daily spontaneous breathing trials (SBTs) as part of standard weaning protocol Hemodynamically stable patients who are conscious and cooperative without sedation
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients of age below 18 or above 80 years Known or suspected diaphragmatic paralysis or prior phrenic nerve Injury Chest wall deformities or abdominal conditions such as large open Wounds surgical dressing that interfere with ultrasound measurements Neuro muscular disorders such as myasthenia gravis Guillain barre Syndrome affecting respiratory muscles Severe ascites or abdominal compartment syndrome Patients who deviates from inclusion criteria
