Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Aged 14-18 years, Skeletal transverse deficiency with unilateral or bilateral crossbite, Constricted maxilla, Lack of space in the maxilla for eruption of the permanent teeth.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: History of previous orthodontic treatment, impacted maxillary 1st premolar and maxillary 1st molar, periodontitis, craniofacial anomalies, temporomandibular disorders, deviated nasal septum, history of trauma to the maxilla, under use of any systemic medication.
