Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Subjects who are willing to give inform consent. Subjects in the age group of 25 55 years. Subjects who have at least 20 functional teeth. Subjects diagnosed with Chronic Generalised Periodontitis Stage I and II Grade A

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Subjects who are having Systemic diseases or are under regular medications for any systemic diseases. Subjects who are on Anti-inflammatory/Anti-microbial therapy/mouthwashes or any vitamin supplements in the past 3 months. Subjects who have undergone Periodontal Therapy in the last 6 months. Pregnant or Lactating women. Subjects who give a history of previous or current Smoking. Subjects with Special Dietary requirements.

Change in Total Antioxidant Capacity (TAC) measured in periodontitis patients treated with scaling and root planing with Hypericum perforatum mother tincture compared to those treated with scaling and root planing alone, assessed at baseline and at the 3 and 12 month follow-up period.Timepoint: baseline and at the 3 and 12 month follow-up period.

MeasureTime frame
: 1. Change in clinical periodontal parameters at baseline and follow up period for both the study groups 2. Change in oxidative stress status, assessed through variation in total antioxidant capacity (TAC) following adjunctive use of Hypericum perforatum mother tincture. Timepoint: baseline and at the 3 and 12 month follow-up period.
