Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with diabetes undergoing General anaesthesia with endotracheal intubation. 2. Adult patient with age greater than or equal to 35-85 years, either Gender. 3. Body Mass Index between 18-30 kg/m2

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with obvious anatomical variations (congenital, traumatic or post-surgical) of face, neck, palate or hands, coexisting factors like rheumatoid arthritis, large thyroid, cervical tumours and previous history of difficult intubation were excluded from the study. 2. Consent withdrawn by the patient.

To find out the combined predictive value of palm print sign, duration of diabetes mellitus and HbA1c in predicting difficulty laryngoscopy in diabetic patients undergoing general anaesthesia.Timepoint: Palm print assessed at preoperatively HbA1c and duration of diabetes recorded at baseline from existing medical records at preoperative ward

1. To evaluate the individual predictive value of the duration of diabetes in relation to a difficult laryngoscopy. 2. To evaluate the association between the palm print sign & difficult laryngoscopy. 3. To find out the level of HbA1c cut-off values with difficult laryngoscopyTimepoint: Duration of diabetes ,palm print sign & HbA1c levels will be assessed at the preoperative period while Cormack-Lehane grading will be assessed at intraoperatively at the time of laryngoscopy during induction of anaesthesia
