Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To compare first attempt success rate of radial artery cannulation under ultrasound guidance by conventional Vs modified method in Short axis out of plane (SA-OOP)technique ; (Group A: conventional method where the target artery is at the centre of the ultrasound screen; Group B: modified method where the target artery is at the periphery of the ultrasound screen)Timepoint: During cannulation procedure at the first attempt (immediate) | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To compare the number of attempts to cannulate between the two groups Timepoint: During cannulation procedure (immediate); To compare the number of redirections between the two groupsTimepoint: During cannulation procedure (immediate); To compare cannulation time between two groups Timepoint: From skin puncture to successful arterial waveform confirmation; To compare the occurrence of complication like hematoma formation Timepoint: assessed immediately after cannulation & during intraoperative period | — |
