Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: First ever unilateral ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke confirmed by CT or MRI scans Duration of 6 months or more post stroke Age between 18 and 64 years Fugl Meyer Assessment Upper Extremity score between 20 and 50 out of 66 Active wrist extension of 10 degrees or more Active MCP finger extension of 10 degrees or more Mini Mental State Examination score of 24 or more, or able to follow two step commands if aphasia is present

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Modified Ashworth Scale score greater than 2 in wrist or finger flexors Cannot feel 5 point 0 7 monofilament on the affected hand Presence of a pacemaker or implanted electronic device Open wounds or skin lesions on the affected hand or forearm History of seizures in the past 6 months Deep vein thrombosis in the affected limb confirmed by Doppler Other neurological disorders such as Parkinson disease or Multiple Sclerosis Severe arthritis or hand deformities that limit function Uncontrolled hypertension greater than 160 over 100 mmHg
