Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients undergoing elective lower limb surgery below knee under sciatic nerve block for less than or equal to 4 hours.2. Patient providing written informed consent to the procedure. 3. Patients of either gender with age group ranging from 18 to 60 years.4 American society of anaesthesiologists grade 1 to 3.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Coagulopathies,any neuropathy,neuromuscular diseases.2. Allergy to local anaesthetic like ropivacaine and lignocaine.3.Infection at injection site.4. Any disability limiting the performance of block.5.Pregnancy

To compare time to complete motor block in single point versus two point injection techniqueTimepoint: From completion of drug injection to achievement of complete motor block, assessed every 5 minutes up to 30 minutes

1. To assess and compare the difference in time of onset of sensory block and motor blockTimepoint: From completion of injection, assessed every 5 minutes up to 30 minutes;2. To assess and compare time for regression of sensory block and motor blockTimepoint: From onset of complete block till complete regression, assessed every 30 minutes postoperatively up to 24 hours;3.To assess and compare the difference in time to complete sensory blockTimepoint: From completion of injection to achievement of complete sensory block, assessed every 5 minutes up to 30 minutes;4.Time of first rescue analgesia that is NRS more than 4 and total consumption of analgesic in 24 hours Timepoint: Postoperatively from completion of surgery up to 24 hours
