Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients more than 18 years undergoing cardiac surgery in our hospital.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Any contraindication to the insertion of TEE probe 2.Organic diseases of TV. 3.Rhythm other than sinus rhythm. 4.Congenital shunt lesions. 5.Patients with poor echo window. 6.More than mild tricuspid regurgitation (TR).

To assess the agreement between the grade of diastolic dysfunction identified by using the Transesophageal echocardiography to the grade of diastolic dysfunction identified by Transthoracic echocardiography.Timepoint: On the day of surgery

1. To assess the influence of induction of anaesthesia on the diastolic dysfunction grading measured by transthoracic echocardiography.Timepoint: On the day of surgery;2. To assess the change in the tissue doppler imaging (TDI) measurements E , A & S velocities measured by transesophageal echocardiography before & after cardiac surgery.Timepoint: On the day of surgery
