Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Diagnosed with chronic kidney disease or acute kidney injury undergoing hemodialysis Clinical suspicion or diagnosis of uremic encephalopathy or neurological symptoms suggestive of raised Intracranial Pressure Patients willing and able to provide informed consent Stable hemodialysis sessions planned during the study period for repeat measurements

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with pre-existing neurological disorders unrelated to renal failure (eg traumatic brain injury stroke) to avoid confounding Intracranial Pressure effects History of ocular or optic nerve diseases (optic neuritis glaucoma retinal diseases) or ocular trauma affecting ONSD measurement accuracy Presence of severe visual impairment or inability to undergo ocular ultrasound Patients requiring immediate neurosurgical intervention Those with metabolic encephalopathies other than uremic (eg hepatic septic encephalopathy) Patients with inadequate acoustic window for ocular ultrasound

Identification of specific dialysis factors (fluid removal volume, ultrafiltration rate blood pressure changes) influencing ONSD(Optic nerve sheath diameter) and ICP. Insight into modifiable dialysis parameters to minimize neurological risks Validation of bedside ocular ultrasound for reliable repeatable ONSD measurement as a feasible ICP surrogate in dialysis unitsTimepoint: 24 hours
