Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Symptomatic failed endodontically treated teeth Lateral perforation at the apical and middle third regions Separated instruments which cannot be retrieved or bypassed Root resorption in less than one third of the root length Procedural errors such as transportation, ledges, zipping with symptoms and which cannot be corrected with conventional endodontic treatment Teeth with developmental anomalies Single rooted teeth with incomplete vertical root fracture

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Uncontrollable periodontal disease. Complete vertical root fracture Inadequate supporting bone Unrestorable tooth structure Difficulty in complete extraction Elderly patients with systemic conditions Teeth which can be treated by conventional endodontic therapy Cracks on the crown or root Vertically Fractured Teeth Deciduous Teeth Dilacerated roots Furcal perforation cases Bone loss more than mid root level More than or equal to Grade 2 mobility Immunocompromised patients Uncontrolled Diabetics Tobacco chewers and Smokers

MeasureTime frame
Improvement of preoperative clinical symptoms including reduction or disappearance of pain, sensitivity to percussion and healing of periodontal tissues. Periapical radiographs showing healing of periapical lesions, absence of new lesions, and normalisation of the PDL space No signs of root resorption and ankylosis Timepoint: 1 Week after Surgery

MeasureTime frame
The absence of clinical symptoms such as pain, sensitivity to percussion, tooth mobility, pocket depth and presence or absence of sinus Periapical radiographs showing healing of periapical lesions, absence of new lesions, and normalisation of the PDL space No signs of root resorption and ankylosis Timepoint: 1,3,6 and 12 months after the surgery
