Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients scheduled for elective PCNL surgery. 2.Patient willing to give informed written consent. 3.Patient of age group 21- 70 years. 4.American Society of Anaesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I III.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patient should not be part of any other study. 2.Patient with spinal deformity. 3.Patient with disease affecting CNS and coagulopathy. 4.Patient with local site infection 5.Patient allergic to study drug. Patients in which Paravertebral nerve block or Epidural block found inadequate and thus general anaesthesia induced.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To assess quadriceps femoris muscle strength and knee range of motion.Timepoint: At 1h, 2h, 3h , 6h ,12h and 24h after anaesthesia induction.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1.first ambulation. 2.sensory plane recovery. 3.Amount of additional analgesia given during & after surgery. 4.VAS score. 5.Hemodynamics after anaesthesia induction. 6.Complication if any.Timepoint: At 1h, 2h, 3h, 6h & 12 hr after anaesthesia induction.
