Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Tobacco chewers who have been using tobacco regularly for more than 3 years. Non-tobacco (comparison group) users who have never used any form of tobacco.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals with a history of smoking, alcohol addiction, or use of other substances. Participants currently on medications that alter taste perception (e.g., chemotherapy, antihypertensives, antibiotics, anti-amoebic like metronidazole). Individuals with a recent history of fever or upper respiratory infection in the past 2 weeks.
