Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients undergoing elective hand, wrist and distal forearm surgey. ASA grades 1-3

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient refusal. Patients with contraindications to regional anaesthesia. History of peripheral neuropathy or nerve injury. Infection at the site block. History of allergy to local anaethetics.

Measure	Time frame
To compare the quality and the duration of motor blockade of the elbow, wrist joint and fingers.Timepoint: 0 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes, 25 minutes, 30 minutes.	—

Measure	Time frame
To compare onset of action and duration of sensory blockade, duration of post operative analgesia, total opioid requirement for 24 hour post operative period, the time taken for the procedure and percentage conversion to general anaesthesia.Timepoint: 0 minute, 2 minutes, 4 minutes, 6 minutes, 8 minutes, 10 minutes, 12 minutes, 14 minutes, 16 minutes, 18 minutes, 20 minutes, 22 minutes, 24 minutes, 26 minutes, 28 minutes, 30 minutes.	—
