Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: American Society of Anaesthesiologist(ASA grade 1 and 2) Age 40-70 years Elective Surgery Patients giving consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Diabetic patients Gastrointestinal disease patient Patients undergoing operation under regional anaesthesia Patients undergoing emergency OT ASA 3 and 4

MeasureTime frame
Reduction in hospital stay among patients undergoing laparoscopic hysterectomy under general anaesthesiaTimepoint: To be measured immediately, 6 hours later and 24 hours later following the use of 12.5% oral maltodextrin drink

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Decrease in post operative nausea vomiting, reduction in anxiety, thrist, hunger, earlier return of appetite and tolerance to oral food, and non significant variation of blood glucose in patientsTimepoint: To be measured immediately, 6 hours later and 24 hours later following the use of 12.5% oral maltodextrin drink
