Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ASA 2 full term(37-42weeks) pregnant mothers,pregnant mothers with singleton pregnancy,normal placental position,scheduled for LSCS under single shot spinal anaesthesia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pregnant mothers converted to other forms of anaesthesia, pregnant mothers with a pyrexia/sepsis,pregnant mothers with peripheral vascular disease, pregnant mothers with cardiovascular disease, pregnant mothers with diabetes mellitus (gestational type 1 or 2), hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, ASA 3+ parturients, BMI less than 18 and greater than 40, parturients refusal

The study may show significant differences in skin temperature between the upper and lower extremities with the lower limbs likely showing greater temperature dropsTimepoint: The skin temperature of pregnant mother s feet and chest is continuously monitored every 1 minute after spinal anaesthesia until transfer on to the bed at the end of surgery

MeasureTime frame
1.The degree of temperature change may correlate with the height of the spinal block, suggesting a potential tool for assessing block efficacy/ sympathetic block 2.The study may establish whether temperature changes can predict complications like shivering or inadequate block.Timepoint: The skin temperature of pregnant mother s feet & chest is continuously monitored every 1 minute after spinal anaesthesia until transfer on to the bed at the end of surgery
