Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To compare the efficacy of ultrasonographic and conventional airway assessment methods in predicting difficult intubation in adult diabetic surgical patients under anaesthesia.Timepoint: Baseline preoperative airway assessment is performed prior to induction of anaesthesia, and the primary outcome of difficult intubation is assessed during laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation in the intraoperative period. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Sensitivity Specificity Positive Predictive Value (PPV) Negative Predictive Value (NPV)Timepoint: Sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value & negative predictive value of ultrasonographic & conventional airway assessment methods Time Point: Assessed intraoperatively at the time of intubation after comparison with actual intubation difficulty. | — |
