Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Adults aged 18-55 years. 2. Male and Female residents of the selected villages for at least one year. 3. Individuals exclusively using datun or exclusively using toothbrush and toothpaste. 4. Willingness to participate and provide informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Individuals using both datun and toothbrush/toothpaste or any other form/material for cleaning teeth. 2. Individuals with systemic conditions affecting oral health (e.g., uncontrolled diabetes, long-term steroid therapy, etc.). 3. Individuals undergoing orthodontic or extensive dental treatment. 4. Pregnant females 5. Patients on calcium channel blockers, phenytoin or any other medication affecting oral health
