Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. American Society of Anaesthesiologists 1 and 2 of either sex 2. Aged between 18 and 65 years 3. Patients undergoing elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy surgery 4. Valid written informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. ASA 3 and 4 2. Known allergy to ketamine or dexmedetomidine 3. History of liver or renal disease 4. Patients on chronic beta blocker treatment with a low baseline heart rate 5. Pregnancy 6. Increased intraocular pressure 7. Uncontrolled hypertension 8. Increased intracranial pressure 9. History of psychosis, seizure disorder.
