Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Mothers having at least one biological child (Typically developing or with Special-needs) below twelve years of age and literate in English or Kannada, to ensure comprehension of the study materials and completion of participant-reported questionnaires
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Mothers with a prior diagnosis of voice, neurological, or respiratory disorders (e.g., vocal nodules, Parkinson s disease, asthma, chronic bronchitis) that may independently influence vocal function. Mothers who are professional voice users, including teachers, lecturers, professors, singers, actors, call center employees, and others whose occupation requires sustained or high-level voice use (Koufman s classification levels I and II). Mothers with an active upper respiratory tract infection or acute illness during data collection, as this may transiently affect voice quality and self-perception.

| The self-perceived voice problems will be assessed using Vocal Fatigue Index. The impact of voice problems will be assessed using the VHI-10, designed to measure the psychological and social consequences of vocal impairments.Timepoint: The study is a cross-sectional study and the data will be collected only at a single point of time. The participant will have to fill one data collection sheet and two questionnaires (VFI, VHI-10), which will take around 10-15 mins of duration. No further data will be collected from the participants. The data collected will then be analysed at the end of the study. | — |

| The risk factors associated with self-perceived voice problems will be assessed using the demographic & background data sheet, which will be used to collect demographics, number of children, age of children, home environment, occupation, voice use, vocal habits, & medical & lifestyle factors.Timepoint: The study is a cross-sectional study & the data will be collected only at a single point of time. The participant will have to fill one data collection sheet & two questionnaires (VFI, VHI-10), which will take around 10-15 mins of duration. No further data will be collected from the participants.
