Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. ASA physical status I and II. 2. Undergoing elective lower abdominal surgeries under spinal anaesthesia.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patient refusal. 2. ASA physical status III and IV. 3. History of hypotension or cardiovascular diseases. 4. Patients on beta-blockers or with arrhythmias. 5. Bleeding disorders or on anticoagulant therapy. 6. Severe anaemia or cerebrovascular disease.

Intravenous phenylephrine hydrochloride restores systolic blood pressure more rapidly than intravenous ephedrine hydrochloride in patients with post-spinal hypotension during lower abdominal surgeriesTimepoint: Assessment will be done at 4 hours post-spinal duration.
