Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.18 to 55 years age group of both sexes 2.Simple which are linear and non-comminuted minimally displaced fracture of the symphysis or parasymphysis region 3.Patient under ASA I or II category 4.Patient who are willing to give informed consent and who are willing to participate in the study with particular follow ups are included in the study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Medically compromised patients who are unfit for the procedure under anesthesia 2.Patients with severely comminuted or infected fractures or bilateral condylar fractures which are treated by closed reduction or midface fractures that alter the occlusion and pan facial trauma 3.Pregnant or breast feeding woman 4.Patients with edentulous mandible 5.Patients unwilling to undergo open reduction with internal fixation

MeasureTime frame
The present study will evaluate and compare clinical outcomes based on operating time, postoperative swelling, stability of reduction, occlusion achieved, nerve paresthesia and postoperative complications like wound dehiscence, infection, plate exposure, need for plate removal and clinical unionTimepoint: 6 months
