Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients fulfilling the diagnostic criteria based on classical signs and symptoms of Amlapitta as mentioned in Madhav Nidana chapter 51 verse 2, such as Avipaka meaning indigestion, Klama meaning tiredness, Utklesha meaning nausea, Tiktamlodgara meaning sour and bitter belching, Gaurava meaning heaviness in the body, Hrit Kantha Daha meaning burning sensation in the epigastric region and chest, and Aruchi meaning loss of appetite. 2.Patients in the age group of 18 to 50 years. 3.Patients irrespective of gender, geographical area, religion and economic condition. 4.Patients who are willing to participate in the trial and give written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients who are known cases of severe conditions such as gastric ulcer. 2.Patients who have undergone any gastric surgery. 3.Patients who are unable to stop steroidal or non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs during the study period. 4.Pregnant women and lactating mothers. 5.Patients diagnosed with carcinoma of the stomach or immunocompromised conditions. 6.Patients having other conditions such as chronic alcoholism leading to increased acidity.

To compare the efficacy of Pippali churna with madhu and Pathyadi churna with jirna guda in the management of Urdhwaga Amlapitta with refrence to GERD.Timepoint: Assessment will be done at baseline before starting treatment, on day 7, day 14 and day 21 during the course of treatment.

1. To review Amlapitta according to Ayurved and Modern. 2. To Review literature of Pippali churna with madhu & Pathyadi churna with jirna guda. 3. To evaluate efficacy of Pippali churna with madhu in the management of Urdhwaga Amlapitta with refrence to GERD. 4. To evaluate efficacy of Pathyadi churna with jirna guda in the management of Urdhwaga Amlapitta with refrence to GERD. 5. To observe any adverse drug reaction in both formulations. (Pippali churna with madhu & Pathyadi churna with jirna guda ).Timepoint: 21 days
