Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: all patients under ASA 1 and 2 who are over the age of 18 undergoing elective laproscopic surgeries

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: All patients notnwilling for procedure and patients with Central nervous system disorders

Measure	Time frame
The primary objective of our study is to compare the time required to achieve an adequate depth of anaesthesia, that is, the BIS 50 level, using IV fentanyl and dexmedetomidine. Timepoint: Time required to achieve the BIS 50 level	—

Secondary objectives are to compare the total IV propofol required to achieve BIS 50 & the haemodynamic parameters (heart rate, mean arterial pressure, oxygen saturation) between both groups at various time points & complications if any in the two groups. Timepoint: till end of surgery	—
