Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Systemically healthy patients ii) Isolated dentate,displaced fracture of mandible (angle to angle) iii) Age group of 20 to 50 iv) Patient with ASA I,II v) Patient willing for the participation and follow up

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient previously operated for mandibular fracture. Patient with jaw bone diseases. Patient with any other associated jaw bone fractures. Severely communicated fractures. Patient not willing for participation in study. Patient with any co-morbidity.

Primary Outcome: Accuracy of fracture reduction and stability of fixation in displaced mandibular fractures, assessed by: Postoperative radiographic alignment (gap/step deformity)Timepoint: 1 week 1 month 3 months

MeasureTime frame
Postoperative Occlusal Stability Definition: Assessment of occlusion (normal/deranged) following fracture fixation. Method of Assessment: Clinical examination assessing molar relationship, midline alignment, and presence of open bite/crossbite. Time Frame: 1 Week ( 3 days) 1 Month ( 7 days) 3 Months ( 14 days) Postoperative Complication Rate Definition: Incidence of postoperative complications including: Infection Wound dehiscence Paraesthesia Trismus Soft tissue reaction Hardware failure Method of Assessment: Clinical examination and radiological evaluation where indicated.Timepoint: Radiological Assessment (Fracture Alignment & Residual Displacement) Immediate Postoperative (within 48 72 hours) 1 Month ( 7 days) 3 Months ( 14 days)
