Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Pregnant women with singleton pregnancy below 16weeks of gestation.Those who complete prenatal care and deliver the baby in our institution will be included in the study analysis.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Multiple gestation,Preexisting type I and Type II diabetes mellitus,Pre-existing Hypertension,Chronic medical disease like renal failure, liver failure,Presence of active infection,Confirmed cases of foetal malformations or chromosomal abnormality.

To evaluate the utility of plasma Adiponectin and Sex-Hormone-Binding Globulin (SHBG) for early prediction of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM)Timepoint: From the entry point in first trimester until glucose challemge test performed between 24 to 28 weeks for GDM diagnosis

To study the association between plasma levels of Adiponectin, SHBG, Insulin, C-peptide & complications related to GDM. To study the association between plasma levels of Adiponectin, SHBG, Insulin, C-peptide & medication requirements in GDM.Timepoint: Baseline visit in 1st trimester, 24-28weeks gestation age, immediate post partum prior to discharge from hospital
