Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: For infants: 1.Age 0-12 months at the time of cardiac surgery 2.Diagnosis of congenital heart disease requiring surgical intervention (open or closed cardiac surgery) 3.Medically stable and planned for discharge to home For caregivers: 1.Primary caregiver (parent or legal guardian) aged 18 years or older 2.Able to understand Hindi/English 3.Willing to provide informed consent 4.Accessible by telephone for follow-up 5.Planning to provide primary care for the infant at home after discharge 6.Good comprehension and expression skills to participate in educational sessions
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: For infants: 1.Severe internal diseases or multiple congenital anomalies unrelated to cardiac condition that significantly alter care requirements 2.Expected discharge to settings other than home (e.g., Foster care, long-term care facility) 3.Previous surgical site infection 4.Infants requiring highly specialized care beyond typical post-cardiac surgery management For caregivers: 1.Cognitive impairment or psychiatric conditions that would prevent participation in educational program 2.Non-primary caregivers or those who will not be providing direct care at home 3.Inability to attend scheduled educational sessions during hospitalization
