Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All consenting male patients in the age group of 18 55 years with AGA stage II VI Norwood-Hamilton classification visiting the dermatology OPD.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients who have taken any form of treatment for AGA in the past six months. 2. Patients with hypersensitivity to minoxidil. 3. Patients with non patterned alopecia and cicatricial alopecia. 4. Patients with a history of severe systemic disease (renal, cardiovascular and hepatic). 5. Patients with a history of hypotension/hypertension, or ones on antihypertensive therapy.

To trichoscopically assess and compare the effectiveness of oral minoxidil (2.5 mg) tablet and topical minoxidil (5%) lotion in the treatment of AGA.Timepoint: 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 and 24 weeks

MeasureTime frame
To see the trichoscopic response with oral minoxidil (2.5 mg) tablet in male patients with AGA. To see the trichoscopic response with topical minoxidil (5%) lotion in male patients with AGA. To assess the side effects of oral minoxidil (2.5mg) tablet and topical minoxidil (5%) lotion in male patients with AGA. Timepoint: 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 and 24 weeks
