Intervention1: High pressure Bipap: Ipap of 20-30 cm H2O till pH reverts to normal and hypercarbia resolves and the patient can be safely weaned off Bipap therapy. 3-6 days.

Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Age more than 18, previously known or probable case of COPD, ABG showing acute type 2 Respiratory failure
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Need for immediate intubation, contraindications to NIV, hemodynamic instability, poor sensorium, or facial trauma, overt clinical features of Heart failure, Age less than 18 years
