Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children aged 2 12 years. American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I or II. Undergoing elective surgery requiring oral endotracheal intubation (ETI). Written informed parent/guardian consent obtained

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Refusal of consent by parents or guardians Anatomical airway abnormalities (e.g., micrognathia, retrognathia, cleft lip or palate, hydrocephalus, craniofacial anomalies, syndromic facies, high arched palate, obstructive sleep apnea History of difficult airway Respiratory or cardiovascular comorbidities Unanticipated change in airway plan during induction

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
assess the diagnostic sensitivity of 5-AIR to detect endotracheal intubation and positioning (tracheal vs. bronchial), using auscultation as the reference standard. Timepoint: IMMEDIATELY AFTER INTUBATION WITHIN ONE MINUTE

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To assess the diagnostic accuracy of the 5-AIR protocol in confirming correct ETT placement ,tracheal vs. oesophageal, using waveform capnography as the reference standard. To compare the time taken for confirmation of ETT placement using the 5-AIR protocol with traditional methods ,auscultation & waveform capnography To evaluate the quality of visualization for each component of the 5-AIR protocol tracheal, pleural, & diaphragmatic scanning Timepoint: IMMEDIATELY AFTER INTUBATION WITHIN ONE MINUTE
