Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients who are expected to stay in ICU for more than 24 hours

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Chronic Kidney disease on dialysis Neuromuscular disorders Injury or surgery to the limb involving ultrasonographic site of interest Patients transferred from another ICU and who stayed there for more than 24hours

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate the association between sarcopenia and frailty at ICU admission across four groups- patients with both sarcopenia and frailty, sarcopenic but non- frail patients, non - sarcopenic but frail patients and patients with neither condition on the need for organ support including vasopressors, mechanical ventilation and renal replacement therapy at 28 daysTimepoint: 24hours and 28days

To evaluate the association between sarcopenia & frailty at ICU admission across four groups- patients with both sarcopenia & frailty, sarcopenic but non- frail patients, non - sarcopenic but frail patients & patients with neither condition & length of ICU stay, length of hospital stay & 28- days mortality. Timepoint: 24hours & 28 days
