Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Diabetic Patient having their Fasting blood glucose level more than 80 mg/dl and less than 180 mg/dl. 2.Diabetic Patient having Post prandial blood glucose level more than 200 mg/dl and less than 300 mg/dl. 3.Diabetic Patient having HbA1C more than 6.5 % and less than 10.5 %. 4.Patient who is taking only Metformin regularly.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients having age below 30 years and more than 60 years. 2. Patients having Type 1 diabetes mellitus 3. Acromegaly, Cushing s syndrome and Pancreatitis. 4. Pregnant and lactating women. 5. Patient with gestational diabetes. 6. Patient suffering from Hepatic dysfunction, Renal dysfunction or Liver cirrhosis. 7. Those who are under Insulin therapy [IDDM]. 8. Patient with Lactic acidosis, Sepsis. 9. Patients with acute complications like hyperglycemic coma, ketoacidosis and infections like gangrene. 10. Patients with K/C/O Nephropathy, Neuropathy and Retinopathy, gastrointestinal diseases, Tumors, conditions like cardiovascular disease, acute MI, Immune compromised disease [HIV].

1.To study the Nidanapanchaka of Prameha according to Ayurveda Samhita. 2.To study Diabetes mellitus according to modern science. 3.To study Kaishore Guggul in detail. 4.To study the Blood sugar level. 5.To Study the Glycosylated hemoglobin percentage. 6.To compare the add on effect of Kaishore guggul with metformin and only metformin in Prameha (Diabetes mellitus) with special reference to Blood sugar level and Glycosylated hemoglobinTimepoint: Patients will be assessed on 30th,60th,90th day of follow up
