Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. ASA physical status III 2. Elective surgery under general anaesthesia. 3. Endotracheal intubation required 4. Patient willing to provide informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Known case of Dexamethasone allergy 2. Pre- existing sore throat or upper respiratory infection 3. Anticipated difficult airway 4. Multiple intubation attempts 5. Patients on chronic steroid therepy 6. Emergency Surgeries

MeasureTime frame
Nebulized dexamethasone may reduce the incidence and severity of of postopertaive sore throat as effectively as or better than intravenous dexamethasone, with potentially fewer systemic effectsTimepoint: Sore throat will be assessed at 1 hour, 6 hour and 24 hour in post operative period

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. To compare the severity of postoperative sore throat 2. To compare the incidence of POST at 1 hours & 6 hours & 24 hour 3.
