Interventions

Intervention1: Subcostal transverse abdominis plane (TAP) block: In sucostal TAP local anaesthetic is deposited between internal oblique and transversus abdominis muscle just below the costal margin

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients aged 18 to 65 years ASA physical status I or II Scheduled for elective radical cholecystectomy for gallbladder carcinoma Ability to provide written informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Known allergy or hypersensitivity to amide local anaesthetics Local infection at the block site Coagulopathy BMI more than 35 Chronic opioid use or history of substance use disorder Cognitive impairment or communication barriers

Postoperative pain score in both the groupsTimepoint: 2, 6, 12, and 24 hours Postoperatively

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Total opioid consumption. Time to first request for rescue analgesia. Any conplications.Timepoint: Postoperative 24 hrs
