Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: all consecutive patients of cirrhosis presenting to outpatient and in patient of hospital

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: overt he creat more than 1.5 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma active ongoing infection , upper gastrointestinal bleed in last 6 weeks alcohol last 3 months pregnant patients , Patient on sedatives /anticonvulsants/ anti psychiatry drugs Patient who received rifaximin/ lactulose/ probiotics/ LOLA/ antibiotics in last 1 month Neurological and psychiatric illness

To evaluate Financial Well Being and Financial Capability in patients of Cirrhosis with MHE. To evaluate change in Financial Well Being and Capability in patients of Cirrhosis with MHE after rifaximin therapy Timepoint: after 6 months of randomisation

To evaluate the relationship between improvement in MHE and changes in Financial Capability and Financial Well being in patients of Cirrhosis with MHE To evaluate for complications at 3 and 6 months. To evaluate change in Health-Related Quality of Life after 6 months of Rifaximin therapy in patients of Cirrhosis with MHE Timepoint: after 6 months of randomisation
