Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients aged 18 60 years presenting with maxillofacial trauma involving fractures of the dentate segment of the mandible (angle to angle) will be included in the study. Patients with comminuted, compound, or displaced mandibular fractures who are planned for open reduction and internal fixation and who are willing to participate and provide written informed consent will also be included

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with condylar fractures of the mandible, fractures that are already infected at the time of presentation (showing granulation tissue or pus discharge), and immunocompromised individuals will be excluded from the study. Additionally, patients who are allergic to Amoxicillin or those not willing to participate will not be included.
