Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Diagnosed with Down syndrome. 2. Current spectacle wearer (minimum 3 months duration). 3. Participant assent and Parental/LAR consent obtained

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Severe behavioral challenges preventing safe measurement. 2. History of facial trauma or surgery altering anatomy. 3. Broken or significantly damaged current spectacles.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Quantification of the "frame-face mismatch" by comparing 7 key facial anthropometric parameters (measured using the Fairbanks Facial Gauge) with current spectacle frame dimensions (measured using the ABDO Frame Rule).Timepoint: As this is a cross-sectional observational study, participants are evaluated only once during a single 20-30 minute visit, with no follow-up period required. Therefore, the time points for both the primary and secondary outcomes have been updated to Day 1 to accurately reflect this single-assessment design.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Immediate improvement in visual comfort and frame stability following on-the-spot minor frame adjustments (rectification).Timepoint: Immediately following the primary assessment and rectification (Day 1).
