Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ASA Physical status 1 and 2 Patients undergoing elective spine surgery under general anesthesia in prone position

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Cervical spine surgeries Patients on treatment with Mg, CCBs Patients allergic or contraindicated to MgSO4 Patient with sore throat or active URTI or Bronchial asthma or COPD Patients with anticipated difficult intubation or multiple intubation attempts Duration of Surgery less than 1 hour and greater than 5 hours Patients requiring post operative mechanical ventilation
